Jessica Simpson is NOT doing a family reality show with Eric Johnson, despite a report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story, which comes from the tabloids.
According to the new edition of OK!, Simpson “would like to get back” to reality TV and “reboot” her television career. The proposed show would supposedly feature the singer-designer’s life with her husband Johnson, along with their two kids, 4-year-old daughter Maxwell and 3-year-old son Ace. In addition, sister Ashlee would make appearances, as would their engaged mom, Tina, and “kooky” dad Joe.
A so-called “source” alleges Simpson’s idea was sparked by boredom, and “it dawned on her that every time she posts a picture of her kids people eat it up.” The magazine’s snitch further contends, “They’ve talked about doing something like this for years, and with the Kardashians tanking, there’s a niche to fill.”
The ratings for “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” may not be as high as they once were. Regardless, their success has nothing to do with Simpson as she has no plans to do a reality show. A rep for the star exclusively tells Gossip Cop the TV claims above are “totally untrue.”
This isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has busted such a false rumor. Back in 2014, OK! sister publication Star similarly claimed Simpson and Johnson were going to do a reality show. We correctly reported it wasn’t true, and time has proven us right. And neither tabloid has a strong track record when it comes to the couple. Last fall, Gossip Cop called out OK! for wrongly alleging Simpson was pregnant. Funny how that isn’t mentioned anywhere in this piece about a family reality show.
